Passing across Lausanne, we drive along the lake side with free time at the Christmas market in Montreux. We continue to the castle of Chillon for a guided tour that takes us through its history. Back to Geneva by the motorway.

With a drive along the Panamericana North Highway we will reach Calderon, for a brief stop in the town where the famous masapan (dough) dolls are made. We will pass by Guayllabamba, famous for its typical fruit cherimoyer and then stop at the highway on the way to Cayambe to take pictures of the beautiful landscape and snow capped mountains. Crossing the equatorial line at Cayambe we will pass by Guachala before heading up to Otavalo. On the way there we will stop again at Mira Lago to take picture of beautiful San Pablo lake. In Otavalo we will visit the local market, set up by the natives and where a variety of handicrafts can be found. Afterwards we will travel to the town of Peguche and then on to Cotacachi, to visit the leather stores, before we take the Cajas Tabacundo road to return to Quito.
